Children's Ministries
Children's Ministry Purpose Statement
To love and accept every child, to lead them into a saving relationship
with Jesus Christ and help them walk in His ways.
Sunday School
Sunday School is in full swing at JKPC! We are blessed to have a great team of dedicated and loving Sunday School teachers for the 2008-2009 school year. We are excited about teaching the curriculum from Gospel Light.
Sunday School classes are offered to children Preschool – 5th Grade. Children come to Worship with their parents and are dismissed early in the worship service (after the Children’s Moment). They then have a short Music Time together in Fellowship Hall before having class time.
Preschool (3 & 4 year old) - Room A/B
Kindergarten/1st Grade – Room G
2nd/3rd Grade – Room F
4th/5th Grade – Fellowship Hall
Nursery Care is available in Room C for infants and toddlers. If little ones remain with you in the service and they get fussy, please feel free to use the “Crying Room" (Room E behind the sanctuary). There is a viewing monitor so the service can be seen & heard.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
SonHarvest VBS 2008 ran a whole week from July 21 to 25th
from 9AM to noon each day.
Theme verse: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23
Vacation Bible School (VBS) took the kids to the country for some down-to-earth farm fun! Through the examples of Jesus and His parables, children grew the fruit of the Spirit in their lives: love, joy, peace, patience and kindness.
Your kids loved trying their hand at real-life farm activities, creating their own blue-ribbon arts and crafts, going hog-wild playing fun games, eating farm-fresh snacks, singing down-home songs and watching hilarious skits! Planning is already underway for VBS 2009. The 2009 VBS dates are now set for July 20-24 and is entitled SonRocks Kids Camp. More details to follow shortly.

Mission Projects
We
encourage our children to have a heart for missions by involving them in mission
projects throughout the year. We participate in the Heifer Project and One Great
Hour of Sharing. The children’s offering helps to sponsor two children through
World Vision, one in Ethiopia and one in Peru. We also are involved in special
mission projects for Children’s Emergency Council and Samaritan’s Purse
(Operation Christmas Child).
Summer Camp at
Westminster Woods
In July,
the children at our church have the opportunity to attend Westminster Woods
summer
camp, located near Occidental, CA. Westminster Woods is segmented into
Adventure Camp (2nd - 4th grade: July 5-8) and Sherwood Forest (4th - 6th Grade:

Family Resource
Library
The
library has topics to interest children, teens, parents and teachers and is
located in the Resource Room in the church office. Books, DVDs, audio tapes and
video tapes are available to check out at no cost.
Other Special
Events
The All
Church Advent Celebration, Birthday Party for Jesus, Christmas Pageant,
Preschool Sunday, Spring Musical and Music Time are all a part of our active
children’s ministry.

Come join us as we discuss future
activities for the kids at JKPC. We meet on the first
Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM in the Church conference room.
