JKPC Men’s Softball Team Update (taken from May 2013 JKPC Kerygma)

In an unprecedented beginning, the Hard Knox Men’s softball team is undefeated two games into the season. Since this ties our record of total wins for any season we have played, we are excited! Also, we only had ten players for each game, which in slow pitch softball means we had no substitutions. The second game was amazing when we scored 11 runs in the first inning, then held the other team to only 12 runs the rest of the game. Since we scored an additional 14 runs in the next four innings, we ran away with a win of 25-12.

Though the winning is fun, we have learned how to accept defeat graciously and we are always making new friends on the field. It is interesting to see how the attitude changes with our opponents from highly competitive in the first couple of innings to somewhat jovial by the end of the game. It is also great to see everyone cheer each other on as we do our best to catch flies, stop grounders, and put the bat on the ball.

We would love to have you cheer us on and you can make friends of the supporters of the other team in the stands also. Hope to see you in the stands some night; the schedule is on the website.

Go Knox, Hard Knox, that is. Always learning new ways to have fun,

Pastor Randy
