Support our Fireworks Booth
June 28 - July 4, 2012
Proceeds will benefit
Children’s Emergency Food Bank & JKPC
Come Join the Fun, too!
Both JKPC and Children’s Emergency Food Bank (CEFB) applied for one of the authorized fireworks booths in Dublin. Thirty applicants were competing for fifteen booths and CEFB was one of the lucky organizations selected for 2013. As you know, CEFB is located at JKPC and the majority of their volunteers are JKPC members as well. CEFB has generously offered to share their booth with JKPC - Pete Peterson, along with Rick Snowden, will be coordinating operation of the fireworks booth this year.
This event requires a lot of effort and time on the part of many folks. The fundraiser will not succeed without your help – we need volunteers to staff the booth shifts and to act as “Day Captains.” You need absolutely no sales experience; the only requirements are a minimum age of 18 and a friendly smile. We provide the 2-3 minutes worth of training that will get you through your shifts! Many of our volunteers are “repeats” so don’t be concerned about what to do; our veteran volunteers and Day Captains will be there in case you have any questions.
Talk to others who have worked the booth in the past. You’ll find that it is an excellent opportunity to meet some of your fellow church-goers who you may not have had the chance to get to know. The camaraderie is great and you’ll learn more about each other than you ever could through any social media.
There will be signups in the courtyard in the coming weeks, but for now please look at the following schedule. It is important we have sufficient staffing for each day to make this work. Money raised during this week is greatly needed to help continue funding many of JKPC’s ministries and activities.
More information will follow, but if you have any questions in the meantime, contact Pete Peterson or Rick Snowden, or the church office.
