Ways to Reach Out through JKPC

Children’s Emergency Food Bank
The Food Bank is pleased to welcome two new volunteers. Clara Chandler and Karen McHugh have joined our group and will be working primarily on coordinating food drives and fundraising with various outside agencies. Clara has begun to work with Valley Christian Church; Karen is already working with Quantum Success Strategies in Pleasanton. In March, we will be reconnecting with all the groups who have helped us in the past as well as several new organizations.

2013 is off to a fast start! Last year we made 660 donations to 230 different families, plus 94 Christmas Basket recipients. Through the middle of February, we have already distributed well over 100 donations.

Food Drive during Lent
We will be having a special food drive during Lent to help support the on-going effort to help feed  those in need locally. We will have bags ready for those interested in helping to take home Sunday, March 17 and will ask you to return them on Palm Sunday, March 24. We will also have a food collection drive during Vacation Bible School in July and in December in preparation for our
Christmas Basket Giveaway.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thanks to those of you who have volunteered to help us with food sorting in the shed. This is a big
help and only requires a few hours and may be done on your own schedule. Extra help is always
welcome so if you’re interested please contact Howard Lim or Rick Snowden.

Can you help drive someone to an evening worship service?
As some of our events or services (such as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday)
are in the evening, we are seeking drivers who may be willing to drive others to
and from those services. If you are willing and able, please call or email the
church office. We can then offer your name and contact information to those
unable to drive to an evening service or event without your help!

                                                     Welcome Newcomers to your Neighborhood!
The Outreach Committee has restarted the Welcome Bag program. Inside each bag is information about both the City of Dublin and its activities, and our church and what we have to offer here. We’re asking those living in Dublin to deliver these bags to their new neighbors - or maybe to someone you’d just like to invite to JKPC! If you let us know the addres

s, we’ll give you a bag, including some fresh cookies, to deliver. See Sam Wills or come to the Information Table on Sundays to pick up a bag.

Help the Homeless with Care Bag!
Last summer we made up 135 bags filled with snacks and small necessities and distributed them in Oakland. Thank you to the ladies who helped assemble more care bags last fall. We are truly grateful for all who have donated towards this ministry and for Allean Husted, sharing her passion & her ministry with us!
All are encouraged to pick up a few bags and keep them in your car
so that you can pass them on to someone in need.

Contact the church office for further details and to reach coordinators for each of these opportunities.
